Product Description
Retatrutide is an investigational peptide designed to activate three metabolic receptor systems with a single molecule.
Also known by its development code LY3437943, it acts as an agonist at the GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon receptors. In scientific literature, the compound may therefore appear as a GIP/GLP-1/glucagon triple receptor agonist, triple hormone receptor agonist, triple agonist peptide, or simply RETA peptide. Researchers looking to buy RETA Peptid may also encounter these different names in product and scientific documentation.
The three-part mechanism is what makes it unusual.
GLP-1 and GIP signalling play roles in how the body responds to glucose. They help control insulin release manage appetite and regulate metabolism. Glucagon receptor activity adds another layer, to this system. It connects to liver function. How the body uses energy. In studies done with mice LY3437943 led to body weight and better blood sugar control. Scientists also saw signs that glucagon receptor signalling helped increase energy expenditure. This effect happened with the actions of GIP and GLP-1.
Human research followed.
Since then, the molecule has been investigated in studies involving obesity, type 2 diabetes and metabolic liver disease.
Why Study Retatrutide?
The scientific question is simple enough: what happens when three metabolically important receptor pathways are activated together rather than one or two?
That question covers quite a lot.
Researchers have looked at the compound to see how it affects body weight glucose metabolism, insulin sensitivity, liver fat and other heart and metabolic health markers.
A large Phase 2 study on obesity included 338 adults who had obesity or were overweight and also had a weight-related condition. After 48 weeks the average weight loss was 22.8 percent, in the combined groups taking 8 mg of the compound. The group taking 12 mg saw a weight loss of 24.2 percent. In comparison the placebo group only lost 2.1 percent on average
The study also reported changes in several exploratory cardiometabolic measures.
Those findings were substantial. They were still Phase 2 findings.

Research Applications
Body Weight and Energy Regulation
Body-weight regulation is a major area of RETA research.
In the Phase 2 obesity study, the effect was dose-related. Mean body-weight reduction at 24 weeks ranged from 7.2% with 1 mg to 17.5% with 12 mg. The change continued through week 48, reaching 24.2% in the highest-dose group.
That raised another question. How much of the effect comes from combining GIP and GLP-1 activity, and what does the additional glucagon pathway bring to the picture?
Preclinical work provides part of the rationale. Researchers found evidence that glucagon receptor activation increased energy expenditure alongside effects on calorie intake associated with GIP and GLP-1 signalling.
Not the same mechanism.
That difference is one reason triple-receptor agonism is being studied alongside dual-receptor approaches.
Glucose Metabolism and Type 2 Diabetes
RETA peptide has also been investigated directly in people with type 2 diabetes.
A randomized Phase 2 trial enrolled 281 participants. Several doses were compared with placebo and dulaglutide. At 24 weeks, mean HbA1c reductions reached around 2.0 percentage points in the higher-dose groups.
Body weight changed too.
At 36 weeks mean weight reduction was 16.8 percent with an 8 mg escalation regimen and 16.9 percent with 12 mg compared with 3.0 percent with placebo.
The frequently reported adverse events were gastrointestinal events, including nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting and constipation. No severe hypoglycaemia or deaths were reported during the trial.
These results helped researchers select doses, for later‑stage studies.

Liver Fat and Metabolic Research
Liver fat became another area of Retatrutide research.
A Phase 2a substudy examined 98 participants with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and at least 10% liver fat.
The changes were striking.
At 24 weeks, mean relative liver-fat reductions were 42.9%, 57.0%, 81.4% and 82.4% across the 1, 4, 8 and 12 mg groups. Placebo showed a 0.3% increase. At the two highest doses, 79% and 86% of participants reached liver-fat levels below 5%.
Researchers also found that liver-fat reduction correlated with changes in body weight, abdominal fat and metabolic markers related to insulin sensitivity and lipid metabolism.
Useful signal. Not approval.
The study does not establish RETA as an approved treatment for MASLD.

Related Research Compounds
Retatrutide is only one approach to metabolic research. Other compounds are studied from quite different angles:

Available Forms
Research preparations may be encountered in different formats depending on the supplier and laboratory workflow:
- Lyophilised powder in a vial
- Prepared liquid solution
- Cartridge
- Pre-filled syringe
- Peptide Pen / syringe pen
- Multi-vial research formats
The Peptide Pen / syringe-pen format is worth noting separately.
Here, a prepared solution is housed in a cartridge-based system rather than handled repeatedly through a conventional vial. For laboratory workflows, practical advantages can include convenient measurement of predefined volumes, less repeated handling of the primary container, compact storage and no reconstitution step when supplied ready prepared.
Purita currently lists RETA preparations in 10 mg, 15 mg and 40 mg formats, including pen presentations. Concentration, storage requirements and analytical documentation should always be checked for the individual preparation. Researchers looking for RETA Peptid for sale can use these details to compare the individual research preparation and its documentation.
Research Use Only
Retatrutide remains an investigational research compound.
Clinical research has produced findings in obesity, glucose regulation and metabolic liver disease. But research evidence should not be confused with regulatory approval, nor should results obtained with material used in controlled clinical trials automatically be attributed to a laboratory-grade research product.
The distinction matters.
Products in this category are intended strictly for laboratory and research purposes only. They are not intended for human or veterinary use, self-administration, diagnosis, prevention or treatment of disease.
Names including Retatrutide, LY3437943, RETA peptide, triple agonist peptide, triple hormone receptor agonistand GIP/GLP-1/glucagon receptor agonist may all appear in research literature or product documentation.
The science is still moving.
That is part of what makes this compound interesting to researchers.
